4th grade trip to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park – quick flight but long day!

We went out separate ways over spring break!
Eden was on a band trip to California – they hit Disneyland, where they performed on stage, then Universal and Knottโs Berry Farm.
Olivia went to spring break camp on the north shore with youth group. They successfully camped and came home the day the bad flooding hit up there.

Aaron and I went to Maui with the boys! The rain and flooding put a big damper on the trip, with many of the sites closed due to damage (no Road to Hana, no Haleakalฤ), but we still enjoyed the mini getaway.

Had a sleepover and then laser tag bday party for the 10 year old!

Enjoyed Elle and Tess and Micah visiting – lots of hiking and hunting for good coffee. The rain was hanging around but we still managed some fun beach time together.

Poppop and Bev escaped the snowstorm in PA and arrived in Hawaii! Enjoyed time with them and Phil & Laurel – some Shaka tours, walks, hikes, beaches, Iolani Palace and good food!

The first of several – Darla and Mark! Despite our busy schedule we enjoyed the beach and hikes and Mark & Aaron got out on a boat for some fishing

Filling our free time with the beach, baseball, paddling, track and hikes

Despite a brief stomach bug we are settling back in to the Hawaii winter. Surfing, beach, paddling regattas, track and baseball filling our days.

We had a few days after school ended before we headed to the east coast for Christmas. 1 week in PA and 1 in Virginia Beach, we got to spend time in the chilly winter to see lots of family and squeeze in some time with friends.

Winter means waves for surf and lots of days with clear skies and sunshine!! We are so grateful to spend our days here right now and love the start of the advent season.
Boys are wrapping up flag football, Eden continues to do track at school, and Olivia just started paddling season.
We got our Hawaiian Christmas tree! Brooks also lost another tooth on the way which he was excited about.
I went on a field trip with Graham to the fish pond – learned lots about the historical purpose and preservation of this tradition.

Started off by helping with the Imu at school Wednesday night and Thursday morning (over 80 pans of meat cooked!). Aikahi 5k turkey trot in our neighborhood and then dinner at a friend/neighbors who hosted 80 people! Lots to be thankful for here in Hawaii ๐
